A Renaissance Wine Dinner Featuring Local Author Crystal King

Author Crystal King and wine director Peter Nelson will guide guests through a 5 course dinner with wine pairings inspired by the recipes of Bartolomeo Scappi, the legendary Renaissance chef at the center of her novel, The Chef's Secret, which Booklist called “a fascinating immersion into sixteenth-century Italian life, an introduction to the world's first celebrity chef, and a reminder of the power of food to influence a civilization.”

Ticket price includes gratuity and a signed copy of The Chef's Secret. Tickets are available on Eventbrite.

About Crystal King:

Crystal King writes historical novels that imagine the lives—and recreate the flavors—of the Italian culinary figures who left behind cookbooks or manuals of stewardship that laid the foundation of the Italian cuisine we know and love today. Her debut novel, Feast of Sorrow, is a Mass Book Award "Must Read," as well as long-listed for the Center for Fiction's First Novel Prize, and hailed by Epicurious as “an upstairs/downstairs drama meets food porn meets historical fiction.” Visit her website at or follow her on Twitter @crystallyn.
